Starting Afresh

I finally tendered my resignation last Tuesday (supposed to be on Monday but my Associate Director had asked me to reconsider for one more day)... I'll be moving to an Asian bank in June for a finance executive role, something that I wanted all this while... To some people (my Associate Director is one of them for instance) it is a form of downgrade given the fact that I'll be moving out from a reputable British Investment bank; but for me it's the jobscope and learning opportunities that matter the most...

To be honest, I don't think I'm someone with high expectation... In fact the word "ambitious" hardly exists in my personal dictionary... To many people especially those in the banking and finance industry, climbing up the corporate ladder seems to be their apparent objective, which ultimately leads to progression, promotion and higher remunerations; but sad to say that such people can often be self-centered, insensitive and unprofessional... For me to adopt such mindset will mean a total conflict to my work ethnics, self-principles and values; but in the corporate society here, some people will imply you as a loser or quitter if you fail to think this way... Pathetic isn't it???

Perhaps I have a better reason now for moving back to Australia in near future, where I can lead a far more simplicity in life... Feel free to correct me if anyone thinks otherwise...

Favourite Song in Foreign Language 3

This is my 3rd posting about Thai song(s) that I like... The title of this song is call "Kon Jai Ngai" (direct translation: Someone who is easily moved in heart); and the name of the singer is Ice Saranyu, who is the winner of a talent search competition in Thailand that is somewhat similar to American Idol... As the Pop/R&B prince of Thailand, his popularity is equivalent to Rain in Korea, Luo Zhixiang (a.k.a 罗志祥) in Taiwan and JJ Lin (a.k.a 林俊杰) in Singapore... For those who are in touch with Asian pop music, you'll probably know what I mean after watching the music video...

By the way, he also sang the Japanese version of this song... What a talented guy...
