New Pictures

Wanted to post some pictures quite badly as it has been ages since the last time I post a picture on my blog. So grabbed the opportunity to post some of the pictures that I have taken at the Koala Sanctuary yesterday. Overall the pictures were well taken and this is also the first time that I had such a close encounter with some of the wildlife animals, which is indeed an experience of a lifetime!

The journey continues...

It has been really a long time since my last post... Anyway, this month wasn't too bad for me. Though the exams were like nightmares, I'm pretty confident that I will pass at least 2 out of the 3 exam papers. Of course, I do hope that I can pass all the 3 exam papers, but for now I'll just keep my finger cross until the results are released... What really amazed me was that I got 37 out of 40 for the Enterprise Miner assignment, and the score was the 2nd highest among all the groups. Indeed, I feel a sense of achievement and is really happy about it, which I guess it's also a motivation for me to do the same for my other assignments or projects in the future semesters.

I could hardly take a break after the last exam paper as my summer classes commenced a few days later. But I managed to visit the Sunshine Coast with few of my friends. It wasn't a good day when we went there due to heavy downpour. But thank goodness that the rain stopped when we reached the destination... I bought quite a lot of stuff from the ginger factory and macadamia nuts factory: chocolates, cookies, key chains, macadamia nuts, etc. My friends commented that I was on a shopping trip rather than sightseeing, which I totally agreed :D... We later went to the famous Noosa beach and the underwater world, which is pretty similar to the one at Sentosa Island in Singapore. Overall, it was an enjoyable trip.

Right now, I only have less than 4 weeks to submit my essay assignment for my summer unit on Government, Business and Society. In addition, I'll be having a mid-semester exam for another unit on Financial Accounting, which falls on the same week of my assignment due date, and so I'm really chasing for time now... On the other hand, I'm looking forward to complete my mid-sem exam and submit my assignment cause I'll be heading back to Singapore after that (Yes!!!)...

Another section of my life journey has just begun...

Memories in October :)

Ordered chicken & kimchi rice for dinner at the Korean restaurant just now, but find that it was a little too spicy somehow... Anyway the restaurant reminds me of Seoul Garden back in Singapore, except that it doesn't has buffet style dinner available... Perhaps this is an implication that I should visit Seoul Garden when I return to Singapore ;) ...

October has been the busiest month for me in my university life so far, but it was definitely worthwhile especially after completing the two major assignments for the subject E-Business Intelligent... I was pretty confident with the analyses for both assignments prior to the similar kind of project that I had done during my last year in polytechnic... Working on these assignments also bring back to me those memories of fun and laughter that I had with few of my ex-classmates, which I really hope to treasure forever...

Till the next post, ciao! :)

Choice and Decision

It has been quite a while since my last post... Was having lots of mixed feeling for the past two weeks; happy, sad, confused, determined, etc. I was feeling anxious and confused with my last minute decision to return to Singapore, but when I alighted from the plane I was delighted with the feeling of being able to spend time with my family members and friends. I knew that this decision was made without regret...

Though my stay in Singapore was short, I managed to catch up with some of my polytechnic classmates for KTV and mahjong sessions... In addition, I got the chance to really compare Brisbane and Singapore, for example: groceries from the supermarket, cost of dining out, etc. But there are actually pros and cons in many aspects so I can't really say exactly which is the best place to stay in...

On the day of my flight back to Brisbane, I was once again filled with anxieties and confusions... It wasn't because I regretted going overseas, but whether was it the right choice for me after all. Though I departed the airport with sadness, I know very well in my heart that this was the path that I have chosen and so no matter how far away the destination may be, I must continue to keep walking...

For the next few days after I came back to Brisbane I was busy dealing with my next assignment which will be due in 3 weeks time, and I noticed that I have been putting in more effort than I did for my previous assignment... Probably it was because I'm really determined to do well for it, even though I did well also for my previous assignment. I guess life is also about making choices and decisions, like whether or not to motivate yourself to go one step further...

Till the next time, bye!

Keep Fighting... 8o/

Today I made a hard decision in dropping a finance unit from the rest of the entire semester... This was followed by the blow of failing badly in the mid-semester exam for this unit that left me with no choice but to withdraw from it... :-/ Never have I thought that something like this would happen to me as I did my revision a week in advance before the exam. This also mean that more time & cost would be needed to complete my degree... :-( But in a different point of view, hopefully this is a strategy that will help me to focus better on the remaining three units...

Later in the evening, I managed to catch up with my Aussie course mate who was in the same tutorial class with me last semester... I got a little consolation when he told me that he'll be taking this unit with me next semester and that we'll study together to overcome this tough unit... Anyway, I guess that's what life is all about, whereby there'll always be obstacles along the way and we simply have to learn how to overcome them...

Just need to keep fighting through... 8o/

Treasure every moment... :)

It has been quite a while since my last post... The mid-semester exams and ongoing assignments are driving me crazy. Though the exam questions were all multiple-choice, they were so tough and tricky that even the local students were complaining. I'll just have to hope for the best anyway... There wasn't much time for me to cook for the past two weeks due to preparations of exams, and so have been dining out quite often. But this also means more expenses are incurred as a decent meal cost around A$7 outside. With such cost I would normally go for Asian food since the price is almost the same as western food. (In fact I have seldom been eating western food since I moved out of the hostel)

Australia had suffered another setback when it's embassy in Jakarta was bombed by the terrorists two days ago. In this world of terrorism today, I feel that peace and harmony would likely be what most people are hoping for. We often get so upset about the personal setbacks we faced in life (love, relationships, etc). But as compared to those people who are suffering or have been victimized by terrorism in other parts of the world, we should really be thankful for what we have and where we are now...

Always treasure every moment of blessing and peace we have in life. :)

Moving On :)

I was waiting anxiously after dinner for the Olympic Bronze medal match in table tennis to commence. The moment finally arrived and I was happy to see Li Jiawei in the match. This is the 1st time I got to see a Singaporean athlete appearing on TV ever since I came to Australia. The match started well with Li Jiawei winning the 1st set, but she wasn't able to maintain her form after that and lost the match in the end...

I do feel sad somehow as I was really hoping that Singapore could win an Olympic medal after 44 years. But again life is always so unpredictable that anything can happen. In fact, there'll be obstacles in life and I think it really depends on how you look at and handle them. Perhaps a better way is to learn from whatever mistakes that you have made so as to help you in growing to become a better person in future...

Life will still be moving on...

Blog Again!!

It has been quite a while since my last post... Well, it seems that I have been struggling with all my weekly tutorial assignments as I always need a longer time to finish them. Some of my course mates had managed to finish their assignments before Sunday so that they can enjoy and relax the whole day. I guess many of my Sundays are going to get burnt from now on...

Right now I'm suffering from the Olympics' fever. I have been watching the Olympics Games on TV almost every night and up to 2 or 3 am in the morning. But most of the coverage are Australian based sports like swimming, cycling, rowing, baseball and hockey to name a few, so it's kind of boring sometimes... I have been trying to look out for the Singaporean Athletes competing in the swimming events but always missing out on them. Earlier I was cheering for Li Jiawei while watching the live score via Internet on her semi-final match against the North Korean player. It was really a pity as she was leading by 3-1 initially before losing the match. Luckily, she still has a chance for a bronze medal. Another good news is that the SBS channel will be broadcasting the match live later and I'm definitely not going to miss it...

S.I.N.G.A.P.O.R.E.... ohh... Singapore, yeah!!!

My First Blog!

Finally, I have the time to start my 1st blog... Anyway, just started lessons this week for my 2nd semester in uni. Though this is only the 1st week of lessons, the tutorial assignments seemed to have loaded me already. I think I'm still having the holiday mood after spending almost 2 weeks travelling around the cities in OZ, so I guess it will take some time for me to get back to the reality...

For the past 2 weeks, I have been busy in uploading pictures taken during my trips and sending greetings to friends. It has been a totally different experience for me being down under, comparing to some of my friends who are in U.S, U.K and back in Singapore. I believed that this is part of a growing up process because only in a changing environment that people start to realise what is really important to them in life. It has been 5 months now since I came to OZ and things have definitely changed in certain ways for me. But one thing that will never change is my family and the few groups of good friends that I have in Singapore, who have given me so much of encouragement and moral support. Without them, I really don't think I'll be where I am today...

Alright, i'll stop here for the time being and since this is my 1st blog, I guess it'll better not to make it too lengthy. Hopefully I have more things to blog about next time... Ciao! :=)
