That Goes Another Year

Ho ho ho! Merry X'Mas to everyone...

Finally, I'm reviving my blog again and have also upgraded it with a new template... Have not been blogging over the past one year due to lack of mood and time... But in general, this whole year is mainly about working, changing job and then continue working again...

Let's just recap on some of the happier events happened during the year on a quarterly basis:

Jan-Mar

Met up with my childhood friends again during Chinese New Year period in Feb, whereby 6 out of 8 of us turned up for the gathering... We had known each other for 20 over years but only get the chance to meet up during festive season or at some important occasions due to work and/or family commitments... Though we have not been as close as before now, we still treasure every single gathering that we organised...

Apr-Jun

I left the local bank after 1 year and 5 months to join a British Investment bank at the end of May... All my other team members had already left the bank before me and so I was delighted when my turn finally came... Pay rise and additional allowances are some of the push factors for me to move on, and of course the usual thought of "the grasses are greener on the other side"... My new role, however, requires me to work from 3 pm till midnight so as to streamline with the London's timing, and this is definitely a huge sacrifice as I will have to forego all my social activities on weekdays from then on...

Jul-Sep

I applied for a one week leave in mid September immediately after my probation period ended, and went back to Brisbane for holiday during my leave... The entire trip was awesome in which I feel like I have gone back to my second home... I also managed to meet up with few of my friends there and travelled to few of the suburbs... Things have changed quite a bit since I left Brisbane almost two years ago, as some new malls and shops have been set up in the cities... But in terms of lifestyle and pace it is still quite laid back in Brisbane... Anyway, think I'll never get tired of visiting Australia and I'm still hoping to settle down and live over there someday...

Oct-Dec

This is the first time I had my birthday celebration at the Siloso beach at Sentosa, and I really thank my little bro and little sis (jus & hui) for their effort in organising this memorable event... Few of my other poly classmates turned up as well and it was really great to see them... Hopefully we can plan for another Sentosa outing again next time...

I did not regret watching this Cantonese Musical drama call "Shooting Stars" (a.k.a. 喝彩) at D'Marquee, Downtown East Resort at Pasir Ris on Nov 23... It is an adapted story about Danny Chan and Leslie Cheung, who were two very popular Hong Kong singers in the 1980s that had passed on... The actors performed many famous oldies during the entire show, and the lyrics of every song really brought the audience back lots of memories on these two great singers... It was such a touching performance that almost made me cry... I'll definitely plan to watch it again if there's a replay of this drama in Singapore or Hong Kong next time...

And finally...

Though 2007 has been a year of mixed feeling for me, I wish that 2008 can be a year that will bring more good news... Hopefully I'm able to provide more happy and positive updates in the following months to come...
